GPBC operates 24 health facilities in 6 localities on South Kordofan State offering PHC, WASH, and nutrition services, along with 2 HFs in North Kordofan State that provide nutrition services. In the health sector:
HEALTH
1- Furnish essential medicines, laboratory solutions, and medical equipment.
2- Ensure that the targeted population has access to essential health services within a 60-minute travel radius.
3- Vaccination/EPI Programs to promote and provide immunizations for preventable diseases.
4- Health Screenings: Conduct regular screenings for diseases.
5- Health Education: Provide information on healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and wellness practices.
6- Primary Care: Ensure access to basic health services through clinics and health centers.
7- Emergency Services: Establish effective emergency care protocols and facilities.
8- Mental Health Services: Counseling and Therapy and offer psychological support and therapeutic services.
9- Health Promotion Campaigns: Launch initiatives to address specific health issues.
10- Ongoing training for healthcare professionals and community health volunteers to enhance capacity and professional development.
11- Improve the availability of reproductive health services, including family planning, prenatal care, and safe childbirth facilities.
12- Integrate IMCI into primary healthcare services so that children receive comprehensive care including nutrition, immunization, and growth monitoring.
13- Establish clear referral pathways for cases that require higher-level care.
14- Implement systems for collecting data on childhood illnesses and treatment outcomes to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.


NUTRITION
GPBC has successfully implemented the Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) for several years, targeting children under five and pregnant or lactating women in North and South Kordofan States. Their dedicated team, in collaboration with State Ministries of Health, has reached those suffering from acute malnutrition. They provide an integrated package of treatment and prevention services, including social behavior change communication, home fortification, cooking demonstrations, and food-based interventions for preventing severe and moderate acute malnutrition.
Additionally, mother-to-mother support groups for IYCF.

WASH
1- Establish and rehabilitate water sources such as boreholes, wells, and springs to provide safe water.
2- Regularly monitor water quality to ensure it is safe for consumption and free from contaminants.
3- Construct household and community latrines with a focus on accessibility for women, children, and people with disabilities.
4- Implement systems for managing solid waste, including collection, disposal, and recycling.
5- Conduct community education on the importance of hand-washing with soap, especially before meals and after using the toilet.
6- Involve community members in discussions about the importance of WASH and encourage behavioral changes.
7- Educate children about WASH practices through school-based programs and activities.
8- Integrate WASH programs with health campaigns, such as vaccination drives and maternal and child health services.
9- Develop plans for providing WASH services during emergencies, such as natural disasters or disease outbreaks.


EDUCATION
1- Encourage the updating of curricula to ensure they are relevant, inclusive, and aligned with educational standards and community needs.
2- Provision of seating to renovate existing spaces for safe and conducive learning environments.
3- Provide continuous training and resources for teachers to enhance their teaching methods and subject knowledge.
4- Establish mentorship systems where experienced teachers support new ones in their professional journey.
5- Offer literacy programs for adults to improve reading, writing, and basic math skills.
6- Create flexible learning opportunities for young people who have not completed formal education.
7- Establish clubs focused on various interests (e.g., science, arts, sports) to promote skills development and teamwork.
8- Life Skills Training: Teach skills such as critical thinking, decision-making, and communication that are essential for personal and professional success.
9- Integrate health topics (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, sexual health) into the curriculum to promote wellbeing.
10- Digital Literacy Programs: Provide training on using computers and the internet, focusing on essential skills for the digital age.
11- E-Learning Initiatives: Develop online courses and resources to expand access to education, especially in remote areas.
